This weekend is our FAMILY DAY OF SERVICE!

We are so excited to have all of our communities across South Jersey spending the weekend volunteering for causes they are passionate or see a need for. Here are the top 5 projects who are still in need of several volunteers! Find more details of Family Day of Service and all of the other volunteer opportunities HERE.

  1. Cumberland Habitat Restore –Annual maintenance projects such as painting, re hanging and hanging of new wall art. General store duties such as moving furniture and processing donations. Must be 18 years of age to participate. Volunteers must sign waiver.
  2. Urban Farming – Gateway Community Action Partnership will be hosting a hydroponic greenhouse tour & community planting project on Friday, May 19th. They are available for tours any time between 8:30am – 4:30pm. This will be an inside look at urban farming and a change to get your hands dirty while planting something beautiful.
  3. Relay for Life Set-ups
    1. Cumberland:

We could use volunteers to help with the set up of the event Saturday, May 20th, beginning at 8am until noon. All ages are welcome. Duties would include assisting Event Leaders in emptying their cars and carrying items to designated areas. Help unpack bins and set up information under tents. It is a big help to also have volunteers on hand to assist any of the participants with their set up. The Event begins at noon so all set up needs to be complete prior to then. (10 volunteers)

    2. Northern Burlington:

There is a Relay For Life of Northern Burlington on Saturday, May 20th in Columbus. We could use volunteers at approx. 3pm to help set the luminaria bags up around the walking track. The Luminaria Ceremony begins about 7:30pm so all bags need to be set out in time for start. The bags are white paper bags similar to lunch bags that are decorated in honor or in memory of a loved one. They have a battery operated candle inside that needs to get turned on also. (10 volunteers)

  4. Sustainable Cherry Hill Trail Cleanup -Sustainable Cherry Hill is partnering with Cherry Hill Trail Crew & Tri County Sustainability Alliance to cleanup Croft Farm’s trails. Volunteers with meet at the barn at 9am.
